Minimum Entry Requirements for the National Diploma Programme

The minimum entry requirement into the National Diploma Programme in the School of Environmental Studies is either:

(a) Five credit passes in the Senior School Certificate Examination (SSCE), the General Certificate of Education (GCE 'O' Level) or the National Examinations Council (NECO) or NABTEB,obtained at not more than two sittings. The subjects must include English Language, Mathematics and Physics or Chemistry and any two of the following: Technical Drawing, Geography, Fine Art, Economics, Government, Biology/Agricultural Science, Woodwork, Integrated Science, Physics and Chemistry

(b) Credit passes in the relevant subjects stated in (a) above in the National Business and Technical Examination Board (NABTEB).

(c) It should be noted however that compulsory subjects in (a) and (b) above cover only the Building Technology and Architectural Technology programmes while the compulsory


THE FEDERAL POLYTECHNIC, ADO-EKITI subjects for other programmes are:

(i) Department of Estate Management English, Mathematics, Economics, a basic Science subject and any other from among subjects in (a) above with Literature and Accounting inclusive.

(ii) Departments of Quantity Surveying and Surveying & Geo-informatics Mathematics and Physics compulsory, a basic science and two other subjects.

(iii) Department of Urban and Regional Planning Mathematics and Geography, a basic science subject and two other subjects from among English language, Economics/Commerce, Art/Technical Drawing and Statistics.



Candidates applying for the Higher National Diploma programme must have the requirements for admission into the National Diploma programme and in addition must have successfully completed: (i) the National Diploma programme with a grade not below Lower Credit from a recognised institution; and (ii) a one-year post-ND industrial training in a relevant industry.
